Unfortunately I have no > clue how to get this list. The Bremen bark BESSEL, commanded by Capt. H. Haesloop, made a single voyage to the United States in 1853, sailing from Bremen on 11 April, with 235 steerage passengers, and arriving at Baltimore on 7 June 1853. You will find a microfilm copy of the original passenger arrival list in U.S. National Archives Microfilm Publication M255, roll 9. You can borrow a copy of this microfilm through any LDS (Mormon) Family History Center (Family History Library microfilm #0417391). This passenger list has also been abstracted in Ira A. Glazier and P. William Filby, ed., _Germans to America; Lists of Passengers Arriving at U.S. Ports_, vol. 5 (Wilmington, Delaware: Scholarly Resources, 1989), pp. 64-66; the names also appear in the CD-ROM edition of _Germans to America_, 1850-1874, Family Tree Maker's Family Archives CD-ROM #355. For a list of libraries in Germany with holdings of _Germans to America_, see http://www2.genealogy.net/gene/www/emig/gta-holdings.html Also, if you give me the name and year of birth of the person (or, if you are researching a family, of each member of the family) you are researching, I shall be happy to check the copy of _Germans to America_ in my local library.
