Could anyone tell me if there would have been a hospital in Bamberg, around 1900? I am trying to get a birth certificate for someone born 2 February 1901 in Bamberg, or alternately a death certificate for 11 August 1982 in Burgebrach, Rauhenbrach. (Hope I have those names right.) Our ultimate goal is to find the parent's names. Where could we write for such information? If there was one, would the hospital be likely to have the birth information? What government entity would the information be at? Is this something that could be done better in person and would anyone be willing to work with me on it?
