Hello, I am new to this list. I am looking for the parents of George RANFT, born ca 1810 in Bavaria as well as the location of his birth. George emigrated to the US. He died in Columbus, Ohio in a cholera epidemic 14 Aug 1849. In Columbus, George married Barbara WOHLLEBER who had emigrated from Reichmannsdorf. Barbara had a child she called George RANFT while she was still in Germany. Whether this was truly the child of the senior George I do not know. I do not know if they knew each other before coming to the US. I do know they were married in Columbus, Ohio 1 Aug 1843. They had 3 more children: Marie Anna, born 1844, seems to have died when her father did; Catherine, born 1846 and Nicholas Wendelin RANFT, born 1847.
