I am totally new at doing research across the Atlantic Ocean on my German ancestors. Perhaps those of you who have done this for some time could share your expertise with me! I am looking for information on birth-marriage-baptism records, parents, siblings, etc. My grandfather Joseph IPPI was born Mar. 20, 1882 at House 20, Adelshausen, Bavaria, Bayen, Germany.His parents were Michael IPPI, Sr. and Theresia HAEUFL. My grandmother was Maria (STEINMEIER) IPPI was born Aug. 8, 1887 at Demling Germany. Her parents were Alois STEINMEIER and Anna HAFNER. She was also known as STEINMAYER. They were married on Dec. 27, 1909, and immigrated to America on Jan. 15, 1910. . They belonged to the Catholic Church. I don't know which church, courts, library or repository to contact for further research. I can have letters translated. Any ideas on how to proceed? Thanks for your help! John sypherjr@cfw.com
