Hello, Would someone please point me to a web site where I can be educated on the difference between Bremen and Bremerhaven? I've tried on my own and remain confused. I understand, after much reading, that most of the passenger lists from ships leaving Bremen no longer exist [wars and such]. I did read that there is an attempt to recreate many of the lists from newspapers, for example. Recently learned that my ancestors may have sailed: From: Bremerhaven To: Quebec Year: 1852 According to someone at the Bistumsarchives in Speyer, 30 families left Otterstadt in 1852 and sailed on the "Arthur." Can anyone help me add to this information? What Shipping Line owned the "Arthur?" Are there any records extant for this ship? Does anyone know if Quebec records may hold any hope? Very happy to read about it myself if someone could point me to the information. Web searches so far haven't given me much hope. I'm crossing my fingers.
