I am stymied to say the least. My gggrandfather was John George MEIDENBAUER. It would seem from the information I have that his brother had the same name. They settled in Buffalo, New York around 1848. MY George was a gardener. The other George was a brewer. They seemed to have been of the Lutheran or Evanglische faith. George the gardener's wife was a Barbara FARBER/BARR/BAER depending on the record. She too was said to be from Bavaria. Does anyone have this surname in their line or can anyone guide me as to what area of Bavaria they may have come from. Thank you so much in advance. Sara in Alaska
