Hi Nancy: I am also trying to find the German roots of my ancestor, Jakob Jung who came to America in the mid-17 hundreds. The curious thing about your Jung-Dick marriage and what caught my eye is the fact that my Jung ancestor was closely connected to the Dirck/Derck family and intermarried after both families moved to Quebec in 1790's. In the records of the Gilead Lutheran Church at Center Brunswick, N.Y. the Dirck family gets confused with a Dick family who lived there at the same time. Have you run into this transposition in your research? Dick/Dirk are not that far apart in some of the old writing.
