I still have had no response on the name WOHLHOEFER. Does anyone know anything about it! It's meaning, perhaps. I've tried soundex and whatever the other sound-alike method is and have tried to contact people with names that seems reasonably similar but no luck. I've tried the foreign phone books. I have the name listed in various places. I still have no trace of the name aside from my local cousins. They are listed with their married families on some sites but they have no WOHLHOEFER info.
