The ship "Main" 1882 Passenger List from Bremen to New York lists GGrandmother Justina KLAFFKI and son, Gottfreid KLAFFKI as coming from Bavaria--no town. All other documentation I have,just lists their former place of residence as Germany. Gottfreid KLAFFKI lists his father (on marriage certificate) as Gottfreid also. Since Justina (her maiden name was LANG) and son came alone, I am wondering how or where to look for information about the death of the father Gottfreid KLAFFKI who I assume died in Bavaria. Are there any vital records available or is this too broad an area to look?
