Hallo, I want to report briefly, why I after Schratt vigorous. Tim Stieg, from Ohio, said to me somewhat about a castle in Oberammergau. I did not know this castle, although I grew up only 50 kilometers far away from it. Then I went to the archivist into Oberammergau and asked this. He said to me then of the designer of the castle. It was Leonhard B. Schratt. Schratt L went to 1902/1903 to the USA. The archivist of Oberammergau wanted to know more from the Schratt family in the USA. I said to him, I wanted to help. I learned the owner of the Ammerburg castle in Oberammergau now to know also. It is the Countess of Ingeheim Molitor, which lives now in Munich. She said to me, that there father the castle bought. She gave me a book, in which the Ammer castle was described briefly. The book is of Andreas Ley and has the title "the mansion as castle". The book is appeared 1981 in the publishing house D W. Callwey in Munich. ISBN 3-7667-0567-9. It is written in German. In this book I read also from Katharina Schratt, which had a dwelling in Triest. The Ammer castle in Oberammergau has the same appearance as the Schloss Miramare briefly before Triest. Schratt Leonhard has probably this Schloss on one of its journeys after Triest to its sister seen and this Schloss in Oberammergau, somewhat smaller, copied. I found many Schratt in the environment of Oberammergau. I look for all Schratt, which want to still live more of Schratt in the USA and say to me. Perhaps you can say to me more. I look forward already to your answer. Regards Klaus Labow from Munich [email protected]
