Hello List Members: I'm hot on the trail of the DANHOF/DANNHOFF/DANHOFF family trail. We have found the birthplace of this family unit at a city/village of Sübke or Sülbke in Bavaria. Could someone tell me where this village is located? So far, we have not been able to locate this village, after many months of research. The other village associated with this family in Kahlau in Bohemia and would like to know where this village may be located. I suspect it was either located NW of Prague or it could have been SW of Pilsen. This family unit was strongly associated with the manufacturing business. Thomas, Are you living in Pilzen or just descended from there? They make excellent beer. No sign of a town with that spelling (Sübke/Sülbke) in Bavaria. You can look for yourself at http://bavariangenealogy.com/bh/ortes.htm. Could Sübke/Sülbke be SOLPKE, located 30 miles NW of Magdeburg, Germany? No luck on finding a town with spelling Sübke/Sülbke *anywhere else* in all of EUROPE. What is your source for this spelling? The town of KOHLAU (KOLOVA) in Czech is 5 miles SE of Karlovy Vary and about 40 miles NW of Pilzen. That's about 70 miles west of Prague.
