    1. [BAVARIA] WEIN family from Bavaria

    3. Hi, I'm new to the list. I have just started to research my husband's side of the family. I have found the following family on the 1880 US Federal Census-Manhattan New York, USA Household: Name Relation Marital Status Gender Race Age Birthplace Occupation Father's Birthplace Mother's Birthplace John WEIN Self M Male W 27 NY Truckman BAVARIA BAVARIA Pauline WEIN Wife M Female W 24 NY Keeping House BAVARIA BAVARIA Josephine WEIN Dau S Female W 2 NY NY NY Henry WEIN Son S Male W 1 NY NY NY ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- Source Information: Census Place New York, New York (Manhattan), New York City-Greater, New York Family History Library Film 1254884 NA Film Number T9-0884 Page Number 472B The other children of this couple who were born after 1880 are: Pauline b. abt. 1881 m. Christopher KAISER Emma Louise b. July 1888 m. Percy Newton MOORE Josephine m. Henry DIETZ I'm pretty sure the couple on the 1880 census are the parents to all of these children because I find Pauline WEIN(mother) on the 1920 and 1930 census in the home of her daughter, Pauline and husband, Christopher KAISER where she is recorded as Mother-in-law to the head of household. Both Pauline and John Wein stated they were born in New York but their parents were born in Bavaria. I don't know the names of the parents of John WEIN or the maiden name of Pauline. Using the ages recorded on the 1880 census, John WEIN was born abt. 1853 and his wife, Pauline b. abt 1856. Their parents would have to have been born probably between 1820-1830 and came to the United States at least before 1853 in John's case and before 1856 for Pauline's parents. I would appreciate any help or advice or hearing from anyone else researching the Wein surname from Bavaria. Thanks, Cindy
