I would like the following translation from english to german. I thank you> Hello, I am researching the coat of arms on the Ferienhaus Kispert in your town of Schönwald. I have been researching the connection of the names Kispert-Küspert with the old name of Küschwert in Oberfranken. Do you have any information on the Wappen Kispert? Did the older Kisperts speak of it? Please write to me in America. Thank you. I am new to German genealogy and need help organizing my info. The town is Billingshausen. It is near Marktheidenfeld and Wurzburg and an area Birkenfeld. I don't know what state or province this is. I do not know the correct terminology.... I've been looking on the internet for hours but most things I've found are in German or they do not answer my question. I would appreciate any help. P.S. I looked on the Arthur Teschler seach and found the town, but I don't understand the way it is organized -- Germany, Bavaria, ......., ??????, ?????, Birkenfeld, Billingshausen. What fits in?
Looking for information on any churches or archives that would have Himmerstal records from the 1850s. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Looking for information regaring Mary Elizabeth ZANG, born in Gladbach Bavaria Germany in the late 1820s, early 1830s. She married Lewis LAUMEISTER, also from Bavaria, in 1848 in Boston MA and died in Stockton CA. Any information on her would be appreciated as this is all I have. Lewis sailed from Rotterdam on the ship Utica and landed in NY August 1845. Perhaps she was with him on this ship. Thanks!
I still have had no response on the name WOHLHOEFER. Does anyone know anything about it! It's meaning, perhaps. I've tried soundex and whatever the other sound-alike method is and have tried to contact people with names that seems reasonably similar but no luck. I've tried the foreign phone books. I have the name listed in various places. I still have no trace of the name aside from my local cousins. They are listed with their married families on some sites but they have no WOHLHOEFER info. Any hints? Lita If God seems far away... Guess who moved? See some of my accomplishments! http://pages.ivillage.com/misc/pux4/index.html

Hi, Looking for any information on my gggrand father Louis BRAUN, born about 1835 in Bavaria, came to us about 1850, settled in upper northern Michigan. married a Pauline Kohlhaas, born about 1841 from Nassau, Germany. Thank you for any help. Jean, Illinois
One last time, I did receive a few noted responses about this question before but before I write my story I'd like everyone and anyone to voice their much appreciated opinion. I value all responses. In researching my old family name Küschwert I find that the name became Küspert and Kisseberth(when in the 16th century a descendent moved to the Hessen area.) I find many instances where the names Küspert and Kispert are used interchangably in earlier Oberfranken records. My question: Are the 2 surnames pronounced very similiar- Küspert(Kuespert) and Kispert ? In your opinion do you think that these 2 names Küspert and Kispert are from the same origin? Please send your comments and opinions, PLEASE. Also please state your German language background, I may need your name as a source. I thank everyone so much. Listers, I am searching for *any* information on the surname SIMON. I particularly am interested in the following: Phillip, Frederic(k), Dora, Martha, and Max SIMON ....all immigrating to U.S.A. from Bavaria between 1880-1890. Family tradition indicates they probably originated from Hof or that general area. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thank you, -- Bob Simon, Massachusetts, U.S.A. I am researching the HEPP surname and am looking to see if anyone else is doing same or can assist. Adam T. HEPP my GG Grandfather (immigrated to Troy, NY) in 1881 with wife Anna Marie (VOELKER) HEPP and five sons (US names of Conrad, Vincent, Charles, John Henry and John). They were from Bavaria in Germany. Adam was born in 1846, Anna in 1848. I do know Adam had a father (my GGG Grandfather) named Adam HEPP but have no additional information and do do as well his mother's name was Margueritte KHOL (? on spelling on both names as death certificate is very hard to read). Anna Marie VOELKER's father was Nicholas VOELKER but I have no additional information on him and none on his wife. The parents of both Adam T. HEPP and Anna Marie VOELKER are belived to have remained in GERMANY. I am the decendent of Charles HEPP and have very little information on the other 4 sons and their decendents. I am interested in anyone in Germany who may know this surname or even be researching it in the US or Germany. Thanks Thanks Don Hepp

On the Hesse List which I am on also, I've seen your name spelled Kispert or Kispurt. I don't know if this is correct either. Just a thought. Greetings! I'm looking for any information on my great-great-grandfather, known in the US as Henry Conrad BEAN (but more likely BEHN, BEIN, or some other variant), born in Kulmbach on 8 January, 1830. A bio- graphical sketch of him lists his parents as Henry BEAN and Abolinia KISBERT, but I think it probable the latter surname was really KUSPERT (I find no evidence of any KISBERT surname even existing in Bavaria, while there are numerous KUSPERTs--if anyone has any other suggestions, I'd be grateful!). Any information would be much appreciated!

Hi, some time ago I asked for help on locating Frey Fischer in Neustadt, Bavaria. Mentioned it had a college or university. Was successful in finding it was Neustadt an der Weinstrasse, originally Haardt. According to a German Guide Book, this is a half timbered town at the foot of the Haardt hills, at the end of the sixteenth century, the Count Palatine Casimir established a Calvinist university here as a competitor to the Lutheran counterpart in Heidelberg. So it seems there at one time was a university, as our family tradition stated. But it was Winzingin they lived in, but it no longer is listed, now being part of Neustadt. Just wanted to get this cleared up. Again, thanks for the help. Mary Widener
