Phyllis: Three suggestions to start you out: 1. http://istg.rootsweb.com/ 2. Germans to America (check your public library). You probably will only have to look in one volume. 3. 3. If I understood you correctly (I'm just learning German), here's a description that should answer your question. It's from: http://digiserve.com/heraldry/pimb_f.htm (Pimbley's Dictionary of Heraldry). There is also a German language site: http://www.heraldica.org/shell/translatd.pl. Fleur-de-lis - (flur'-de-lee) Heraldically this is a flower, and stands at the head of the flowers of heraldry. Its origin is unknown, one "authority" claiming that it was brought down from heaven by an angel for the arms of France. It is also said to mean the flower of Louis (Fleur de Louis), and was certainly used by Louis VII. It is undoubtedly the "flower of the lilly." 2. MARIANNE SOUTHWORTH
    3. In my search for the WEIGELT and WUNDERSEE family I was made aware that these families might have come originial from Bavaria . My search is in Posen and Brandenburg. Martin WUNDERSEE born abt 1714 in Kainischt ,Meseritz, Posen . His father was Martin WUNDERSEE. The family is very scares in that area, that I realy asume that they came from another state to this area. I like to get in touch with other families with the surname WUNDERSEE. The same is for the WEIGELT FAMILY. Anton WEIGELT married Barbara WUNDERSEE 24 October 1772 in Kainischt, Meseritz,Posen Any help where I could find even some WUNDERSEE and WEIGELT families to share notes. Thank you Marianne

    2. C.J. Lisa
    3. All references were obtained from the archives in Memmingen when I visited there in October. Any further family information or links would be greatly appreciated. I would like to find living relatives as well as ancestors. My grandmother, Maria BLEND (b. 1881) was from Memmingen born of Katharina KUECHLI (b. 1849, d. 1903) and Johann BLEND (b. 1850, d.1836), also his father, Johann BLEND prior from Munsinger married to Regina GREIFF. Two brothers of my grandmother, Frederick & Georg went to Berlin and another, Bartholomelios to Nuremberg. George had residence in Berlin in 1903 (no other information); Frederick died in Berlin in 1939 and had 2 children Katharine and Frieda and was married to Imelia LINDIG. Bartholomelios was married in Nuremberg in 1909 (no other information). Another brother Tobias appears to have remained in Memmingen however there was no additional information about him or his death -- (he was born 1884) so it is possible that he too left Memmingen.

    2. Phyllis Dearborn
    3. Hi Jeff; If you are close enough to a library that has Filby's Germans to America, you could start there. You know the year is 1854, this series is divided into volumes according to date they arrived in America. There is an index to each volume; it will usually tell you the name of the ship and its date of arrival and lists who came with your ancestor. Perhaps someone on the list has the URL where the series is listed according to Volume. Regards, Phyllis in Wisconsin

    2. Good Morning Listers, (1854>Cincinnati) I'm really having a hard time figuring out the port of arrival and the ship my gggrandmother Apalonia Albert came over on.
