My grandfather, John Louis Leopold KREMHELLER, was born in Munich in November, 1874 to John Kremheller and Elizabeth RALTNECKER. He left Germany in 1887 at age 12 for America. He was orphaned sometime in those 12 years. Any ideas on where to find info on how and where he lived as an orphan? When his parents died? Etc.? He was of the Catholic faith during those years. You need to find the same information as to where they might be in the USA. Immigration records and naturalization records are probably a start if you don't know where they went. I was fortunate in finding old postcards addressed to my grandparents from Switzerland which helped trace origins for me and even addresses where they lived while here. Have you looked for emigration or passport information on your side? Ship information could help as to destination. My ggg grandfather was George BRICKNER born in 1802 in WASSERLOS, BAVARIA, GERMANY. He married Susanna BOCK. They had a daughter Elizabeth BRICKNER born December 16, 1846 in WASSERLOS, BAVARIA. I want to find someone on the list who is familiar with WASSERLOS, BAVARIA. The family was of the Catholic Faith. I would also like to find out the name of the Catholic Church in Wasserlos.
