    3. Jack, The URL may be a little corrupted on the E-mail copy we receive on the List. Use only the portion of the address between the quote marks, that is: http://home.bawue.de/~hanacek/info/darchi18.htm on Paul's first E-mail and http://home.bawue.de/~hanacek/info/darchive.htm on the second E-mail. Paul, thanks for the "new" URL. The one I had bookmarked no longer works and I didn't know how to find it again. :-) Norm ----- Original Message ----- From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, July 15, 2003 2:26 PM Subject: Re: [BAVARIA] Evangelical Church records In a message dated 7/15/2003 3:05:22 PM Eastern Standard Time, [email protected] writes: > Paul, do you have to be a member of that site to check it. 3. Paul - The email you give for Evangelical records - is it good only for Bavaria? Would you know an email address for Evangelical records for Saxony [or Reuss-Gera] or for Brandenburg? Unfortunately the records for the town have not been filmed by LDS, and many Bavarian church records have been moved to the archives. Poppengrun appears to be near Bamberg, and if you are looking for Catholic records, you could send an e-mail to the Bamberg Diocesan Archives and ask if the records are stored there: [email protected] If you are looking for the Evangelical records, send an e-mail to: [email protected] Be sure to mention that you are researching the Poppengrun in Bavaria because there is also a town in Saxony with the same name. 1. [BAVARIA] RE::Henry Reisner and wife, Maria Margaret Haueisen-Reisner
    2. We used an old obit to fine the town in Germany, we think John Reisner was from. The obit is of Maria Margaret Haueisen Reisner, Henry Reisner's wife. They were married 1847 Popengrin, Bavaria, Germany. Henry came to NY in 1848 and saved money to bring family over then they came to Wis. They could have come through Newton  then to Dane Co. in Wis.  We believe Henry and John were either brothers or cousins. Can anyone point me to a German resource so I can confirm births and marriage? Can anyone tell me if they are listed on German to America CD's? Any information is appreciated. danke, Andy Schrag Sacramento, CA
