He was born April 5, 1920, in Harrison, Boone County, AR., to the late Amos Walter and Ellen Claudia Lazarus Baughman. He was the owner of Tri-Valley Welding and a member of First Baptist Church, where he was a deacon. He was a member of the Easter Star and a Mason and served in the U.S. Air Force. Survivors: daughters, Janet Russell of Victoria and Cheryl Baughman of Kirkland, Wash.; sister, Jewel Baughman of Fort Worth; and one grandchild. Preceded in death by: wife, Dorothy Hubbard Baughman; one sister; and two brothers. (Opal Novella Baugman Lawrence, Amos Templeton Baughman, and John Reighneau Baughman. Half-siblings, children of Amos Walter and Safronia Adele Buie, Albie Parker Baughman, Stella Baughman Bush, George Fred Baughman, and Verna Alice Baughman Bowers, also predeceased Perry Baughman). Graveside services will be 3 p.m. today at Memory Gardens Cemetery, the Rev. James Schamburger officiating. Honorary pallbearers: Bill Russell, John Russell, Betty Solis.
