    3. It certainly is the same person that I have in my database. Of course, I could be wrong since the information I have came from various sources (mainly censuses and the internet) of varying reliability. In the history of Richland Co., OH, there is a section on the Baughman family (see http://www.heritagepursuit.com/Richland/RichlandMansfield.htm, ignore the part about Abraham being born on the Atlantic Ocean, which is almost certainly not true but may refer to Abraham's father Heinrich who was born in 1717 and arrived in PA in 1717). It mentions David the son of Abraham junior, who married Rebecca "Wolfs." The David Baughman and wife Rebecca found in Osage Twp, Morgan Co., MO in the 1850 census (dwelling 459) is generally believed to be this David. You will see children Jackson, William, John and Amena[or Arena aka Irene], all born Ohio. John, aged 9, is undoubtedly your John, who married Lucinda McDaniel (aka Sophonia) on 30 Sep 1860 in Morgan Co., MO. Although the marriage record lists Sophonia, all the censuses have her as Lucinda (e.g. with her parents in 1850 in dwelling 286 in Richland Twp., p. 241) I'm not sure where I got the name John Madison that I have in my database. A few pages down in the census (dwelling 482), one can find David's brother William Baughman who served in the MO state legislature. William moved to MO first (in the fall of 1838 according to a bio) and his 10-year old was born in MO, while David was still in OH in 1845 when his 5-year old daughter was born there. William's presence adds credence to the supposition that David and Rebecca in Morgan Co., MO are the same David and Rebecca from Richland, OH. Do you have a death date for Lucinda? I only have that she died after 1920 (when she was living in Mill Creek) and probably before 1930 (when I did not find her in the census). I can supply more information on John Baughman's ancestry, but maybe we should go off list to keep from overwhelming folks (email philr@stanford.edu ) Phil At 08:31 AM 11/2/2005, you wrote: >Hi, >Sorry I meant to say the swastika was on the front of >the little card type folder.
