Suddenly I had a flash of genius. I put the hamburger in the oven and set the controls for roast. It still came out hamburger, much to my disappointment. ~~~~~~~~~~~ MONDAY: It's fun to cook for Bob. Today I made angel food cake. The recipe said beat 12 eggs separately. The neighbors were nice enough to loan me some extra bowls. ~~~~~~~~~~~ TUESDAY: Bob wanted fruit salad for supper. The recipe said serve without dressing. So I didn't dress. What a surprise when Bob brought a friend home for supper. ~~~~~~~~~~ WEDNESDAY: A good day for rice. The recipe said wash thoroughly before steaming the rice. It seemed kinda of silly but I took a bath. I can't say it improved the rice any. ~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ THURSDAY: Today Bob asked for salad again. I tried a new recipe. It said prepare ingredients, then toss on a bed of lettuce one hour before serving. Which is what led up to Bob asking me why I was rolling around in the garden. ~~~~~~~~~~~ FRIDAY: I found an easy recipe for cookies. It said put all ingredients in bowl and beat it. There must have been something wrong with this recipe. When I got back, everything was the same as when I left. ~~~~~~~~~~~ SATURDAY: Bob did the shopping today and brought home a chicken. He asked me to dress it for Sunday (oh boy). For some reason Bob keeps counting to ten. ~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~ GOOD NIGHT DEAR DIARY. This has been a very exciting week. I am eager for tomorrow to come so I can try out a new recipe on Bob. If we could just get a bigger oven, I would like to surprise him with Chocolate Moose.

Hi Jenny, I just last week got information on my George Washington Baughman. I got a lot of information from people but don't have it entered into my FTW and the material is so unfamiliar to me that I will have to take time to look through the stuff and see. Baughman and Harriet E. Johnson. This is what I know: George W. was born in 1842 in Ohio, his father was born in Pa, his mother in Vt. He married Harriet E. Johnson in Steuben Co., Indiana on 24 Sept. 1865. They had a daughter, my direct line, named Della M. born 22 Sept., 1866 in Indiana. Their next child, a daughter named Dora A., born 1863 in MI. Their last child, John N. was born 1879 (notice the large gap in ages of this child compared to the others). John N. was born in Michigan also, most likely Allegan Co. Harriet Johnson's father is listed as born in Pa and her mother in Conn. Della Baughman married Freedom Watson Story. She died in 1926 in Flint, MI. My father does not remember anyone ever talking about Della's siblings which I find rather odd. My Dad was one of the youngest Grandchildren but I would have thought he would remember seeing his great aunts and uncles so wonder if they died young or moved away. I have been working on this line forever and would appreciate any thoughts/comments/suggestions on this line. Lyn

I am looking for information on James Albert Baughman and his wife, Salina Skidmore. They had a son, James E. Baughman (b. 9 July 1868/1869) who married Tabitha Duffield. James Albert's parents were John and Susannah Dyer Baughman both of whom died in Webster Co WV in the late 1890s. Unlike most of the Baughmans, James Albert and Salina came to KS sometime in the 1860s where James Albert and a young son died. Salina returned to Braxton Co WV where she remained until her death in 1900 (she never remarried). If you find any connection in your research to this family I would appreciate receiving it. I have a Samual Baughman that was born about 1833 or 1834. He married Emily Vance (Parents: Jacob Michael Vance and Catherine Wilt). I have no idea who Samual's parents were. Does this family tie into yours at all? Samual died of apoplexy and is buried in the Eberhard Cemetery, Whitley County, IN. Samual and Emily's children were: George, Sarah Catherine, Marietta, William Henry, Amanda J., and Stephen. Stephen was born in 1868 and died April, 1869.
