I am looking for information on a Charles H. Baughman. He was my mother's father and she knows little if anything about him. He left when she was very young. Her mother wouldn't tell her anything. This seems like a good group so I thought I would start here. He died in Salt Lake City UT around 10-15 years ago aroung the age of 75. He lived in Emporia KS around in the 1930's and was briefly married to a Harriet Mathews. May have been born in Kansas. Military service is also a possibility. He may have been a watchmaker. Thanks for the help. My mother is getting old and really would like help.

Baughman" in the household of the widowed Jennie Evans, where is a son-in-law. His birthplace and that of both parents are given as WV. This means he is probably not connected to my Stark Co Baughmans who came there about 1816 from Columbiana Co., OH. I would try looking at Baughmans in the 1910 WV census to see if you can find the young Emery.
