My gggrandfather was Emanuel Baughman who married Henrietta. He was born in 1827 and she in 1848. They had four children ( William 1862 [??]; Alpharetta 1866; Charles 1867 Norman 1869). My great grandfather was Charles Otis Baughman, who would have been the brother of your "William". I was told that the 1880 census indicates that Emanuel died and Henrietta remarried a James Elwell;and the children are listed as step children.
