I have been working on the Bachman family from Westmoreland County. Two Bachman men, John and Henry, moved from the Upper Hanover area to Westmoreland County between 1785 and 1788. John Bachman married Maria Barbara Franck in 1736 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, aka. Six Cornered Church, Upper Hanover Twp., Montgomery Co., PA. I have not found when and where Henry was married. Also, we do not know the relationship between John, b. 1730 and Henry b. 1741. I have suspected they were brothers, but they may be cousins or not even related. I would appreciate any information on the early ancestors.

I have family history documents (from the late 1930's and early 1940's) that indicate Daniel was born in Westmoreland County, PA on July 8, 1803. The documents show him moving to Stark County, OH in 1856, with his 2nd wife, Esther, and a son, John. My Daniel had an older brother John (b: 1800)who married Rebecca Jane Garlick and moved to Bedford County, PA. I have my great great grandfather, William E. Baughman's, hand-written memoirs that describe his great grandfather Daniel raising him in the 1860s and 1870s. Both Daniel and his wife Esther are buried outside of East Sparta, OH (Stark County). My name is John Young (mother's maiden name is Baughman). Please feel free to email me if you'd like to exchange information.

The closest I have is a Daniel Baughman b. 6/6/1803. He has a brother John, but he is older. I have one other Daniel b. 7/25/1804 who married a Susan. He also had a brother John, but he is also older. I have found both Daniel's birthdates in the German Church Records of the area. I'd like to help you make the connection if it is there. Can you tell me how you determined Daniel came from Westmoreland County? Do you know his wife's name? How did you document his birthdate?

'Would like to share information. I've been struggling (as I can tell many others have, too) with aligning the Westmoreland County Baughmans. I don't know who Daniel's parents are. Daniel moved from Westmoreland County to Pike Township, Stark County, OH in 1856. Daniel was born July 8, 1803 and died in April 1889. He's buried in Pike Township. There is a significant contingent of Baughmans from this line still living in Stark County, OH.

Surnames: Baughman, Blair, Carlisle Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.baughman/933/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Searching for information relating to the marriage of W. F. Baughman and Anna Blair. They were married in Cass Co., TX 23 Dec 1895. Anna Blair is believed to be the daughter of Norman C. Blair and Dora Carlisle. The 1880 Cass Co., TX census record lists N.C. Blair, age 27; wife Dorha, age 18; daughter Amma, age 2; and son Thomas, age 1. It is possible that the Amma listed is really Anna, and this is her marriage record. I have been unable to find the Baughman family in the 1900 census records. I have further information on the Blair and Carlisle families if anyone is interested.
Hi List, Ron Baughman posted a query on the Rootsweb/Ancestry Message Board re the above named. I attempted to answer it but I don't think it worked. I found it very frustrating. Apparently they have added some new gizmo or other which has complicated a simple answer. AND Ron's e-m,ail addrress is hidden so I can't go to him directly. Soooo, Ron if you read this contact me as I can give you some good info and proof. Phyllis
