I am seeking information on Elizabeth "Betsey" BAUGHMAN, nee BERKHOUSE cir. 1820 in PA. She married Paul BAUGHMAN in 1836 in Redbrook, Armstrong, PA. The couple is enumerated in the 1850 census as living in Parkman, Geauga, OH. In 1860, all of their children are scattered throughout Jefferson Co., PA, living with families who are presumably relatives. That same year, a Betsey BAUGHMAN is living as a domestic servant in Gorham, Fulton,OH. Also enemerated w/ her is 7-year-old Matilda BAUGHMAN, presumably her daughter. Are any of you researching this Baughman branch and, if so, can you confirm a match? Thanks, G. Cameron

Her parents both were born in Pennsylvania but I do not know their names. I have always believed her middle name to be Orwaig; however after reviewing the families in Pennsylvania and Ohio I believe it was likely Orwig. There are many connections between the two families. Elizabeth married Albert J. Boynton 31 Dec 1857 in Ohio. their children were George, Adzina, Cora Belle, Alta ann and Charles. Elizabeth died 18 Apr 1896 in Moline, Rock Island Co, Illinois.
