My Bauer roots came from Hesse Darmstadt according to me grand father George Bauer born in St Louis, Mo. Jan. 18 1860. He said his Father Johann Bauer was born in Germany around 1826 and I don't know when he came to St Louis I wish I could get a birth certificate, death certificate application for citizenship or marriage certificate to my ggrandmother Gottliebin Engel Have not been able to get any of the above.
