I found the following obit for Erwin Bauer in "The Daily Gazette" in Schenectady, NY, dated February 14,2000: "Erwin Bauer, Trustco Bank vice president of operations GUILDERLAND - Erwin Bauer, 67, of Angelina Terrace, died at home Friday after being stricken. Born in Queens, Mr. Bauer graduated from Grover Cleveland High Scheool, the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University and the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute School of Management. He had lived in this area for 46 years. He was employed for 35 years by Trustco Bank, first as a teller in its Mont Pleasant, Schenectady, branch, later as vice president of the commercial load division, and finally as vice president of the operations division until his retirement in 1989. Mr. Bauer was a member of the board of directors of the Northeast Parent and Child Society and served as president in 1986 and 1987. He was a former board member of the Annie Schaffer Senior Citizens Center and served as its president from 1982 to 1984. Mr. Bauer was annyal campaign chairman of the United Way of Schenectady County in 1983 and a member of the Schenectady County Fundraising Review Board. He served on the Schenectady Downtown Parking Special Assessment District Board and was past treasurer of the Schenectady Downtown Merchants Bureau. Mr. Bauer was a former instructor for the Schenectady Chapter of teh American Institute of Banking and the Draper School District Adult Education Program. He was active with the New Apostolic Church in the New Your City area and later in the New England states and upstate New Your. His wive, Irene Wurtz Bauer, died May 21, 1997. Survivors include two sons, Douglas E. Bauer of Rotterdam and Bruce R. Bauer of Guilderland; a brother, Heinz Bauer of Monroe, Conn.; and four grandchildren. A service is set for 8 p.m. Tuesday at the New Apostolic Church, 2389 Curry Road, Rotterdam. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the New Apostolic Church, 2389 Curry Road, Schenectady, NY 12303.
