Hello all! I'm a newbie, and I'm looking for the proverbial needle in a haystack. Aren't we all? My gggrandfather is: Georg Bauer, bd unknown, dd unknown, born & died in Schontau, Germany wed Franziska ?, bd unknown, dd unknown, born in Lind, Germany, died in Schontau, Germany son Johann bd 4 May 1859 in Schontau, Germany dd 9 Mar 1921 in Wildstein, Germany Of course I'd like to go backwards, but I've also learned that two of Johann's sisters immigrated to St. Louis, Missouri. My mother remembers seeing letters from them, but she doesn't remember their names. Hence the needle I'm looking for doesn't really have a name as they would have married and changed it. Is there any hope for solving this mystery???
