He immigrated with his parents to Knox County, Ohio in the fall of 1827. He married Mary E. BATESON of Licking County, Ohio 2 November 1834 by whom he had eight children. Mr. and Mrs. Harris after their marriage remained in Licking County until the fall of 1839 when they moved to Putnam County, Ohio, where they remained the balance of their lives.
