"Bo" Bateson, 83 of Zanesville, Ohio passed away Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Cedar Hills Care Center. He was born March 26, 1929 in Zanesville a son of the late William and Edith Bateson. He had worked at ARMCO Steel, was a member of the VFW, American Legion and First Christian Church. Bo graduated from Lash High School in 1948 where he was a standout on the basketball team. After graduation he went on to play basketball for the United States Air Force. He is survived by his wife, Shirley A. Maxwell Bateson; sons, William (Laura) Bateson of Dresden, Ohio and Thomas (Christy) Bateson of Utica, OH; daughters, Beth Bateson-Adams and Sue King both of Zanesville; grandchildren, Ryan and Kurt Allen, Clayton Bateson, Matthew Church, Courtney Bateson, Kyle King, Allison and Karlie Sears, Beau Bateson, Luke and Chase Bateson; great grandchildren, Blake and Paige Allen; close friends, Pat James, Eddie Bowman, Dwight Stotts and Lefty Wagner. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, David Bateson; sisters, Marjorie, Margaret, Rachel and Hilah; and son-in-law, Michael Adams. Calling hours will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 W. MILITARY RD., ZANESVILLE. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Wednesday in the Snouffer Chapel with Rev. Dawn Remster officiating. Burial will follow in the Williams Cemtery, Zanesville, Ohio.
