Samuel the son of Nathaniel Batson and Elizabeth Amazeen. I always thought that Benjamin and Pheobe would decend from a Lewis Bateson.

Boyd Rogers City, Michigan SAMUEL HARRIS, son of Abram HARRIS and Esther DENMAN was born in Greene County, Pennsylvania 6 April 1808. He emigrated with his parents to Knox County, Ohio in the fall of 1827. He married Mary E. BATESON of Licking County, Ohio 2 November 1834 by whom he had eight children. Mr. and Mrs. Harris after their marriage remained in Licking County until the fall of 1839 when they moved to Putnam County, Ohio, where they remained the balance of their lives. Samuel died 16 Nov 1898 aged 90 y 7m 10 d, and Mary died 14/16 August 1852 aged 37 y 9 m 14 d. They had eight children. Mary E. BATESON was born 30 Nov 1815 in Washington Co., PA. the daughter of Henry BATESON Jr. and Elizabeth BATESON. Samuel married 2nd. Catherine ________? Catherine died 24 February 1881, aged 73y 4m. All three buried in Harmon Cemetery, Blanchard Twp, Putnam County, Ohio.

I am trying to verify some information that I have. I am trying to find the ancestry of Abraham Bateson, born 1794, Christened 24 Aug 1794 in Horsforth, Yorkshire. He married a woman named Mary and had at least 4 children. Familysearch.org had a William Bateson listed as his father, but no other information about him. I found a William Bateson, born abt 1763 on OneWorld Tree in Horsforth to a William Bateson, who's father was named Abraham. I know I "probably" have the right family, but I wanted to know if anyone else had any information that might help. The person who listed the tree on One World Tree did not have any contact information.

    3. I have these Ohio Batesons in my family. SAMUEL J. JEWELL, son of Isaac JEWELL and Jerusha Harris was born 3 Aug 1826 in Ohio and married Nancy McCRACKEN. She died young and he married Sarah Jane WAGNER born 30 April 1837 in Knox County, Ohio. She was daughter of James Wagner and Sarah BATESON. She died 12 April 1916 in Haxtun, Colorado. They had four children. They removed to Wayne County, Iowa where Samuel died 13 Nov 1897 Corydon, Iowa on his grandson's seventh birthday.
