I've "rescued" an old photograph of Scott BOYD which was taken at the Meacham & Sabine Studio in Youngstown, Ohio. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1890's with Scott likely in his teens at the time it was taken. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding the young man in the photograph: Walter Scott BOYD was b. in Niles, OH, the son of W. E. BOYD and Mary MCCOY. Walter Scott married Lizzie BATISON (b. 1878 in Youngstown, OH - dau of George & Lizzie BATISON) on 4 Jun 1901 in Mahoning Co. OH. "Bo" Bateson, 83 of Zanesville, Ohio passed away Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Cedar Hills Care Center. He was born March 26, 1929 in Zanesville a son of the late William and Edith Bateson. He had worked at ARMCO Steel, was a member of the VFW, American Legion and First Christian Church. Bo graduated from Lash High School in 1948 where he was a standout on the basketball team. After graduation he went on to play basketball for the United States Air Force. He is survived by his wife, Shirley A. Maxwell Bateson; sons, William (Laura) Bateson of Dresden, Ohio and Thomas (Christy) Bateson of Utica, OH; daughters, Beth Bateson-Adams and Sue King both of Zanesville; grandchildren, Ryan and Kurt Allen, Clayton Bateson, Matthew Church, Courtney Bateson, Kyle King, Allison and Karlie Sears, Beau Bateson, Luke and Chase Bateson; great grandchildren, Blake and Paige Allen; close friends, Pat James, Eddie Bowman, Dwight Stotts and Lefty Wagner. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, David Bateson; sisters, Marjorie, Margaret, Rachel and Hilah; and son-in-law, Michael Adams. Calling hours will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 W. MILITARY RD., ZANESVILLE. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Wednesday in the Snouffer Chapel with Rev. Dawn Remster officiating. Burial will follow in the Williams Cemtery, Zanesville, Ohio.
