    3. I have some information about one of the sources I listed from my previous message. The "Register" is the published proceedings of the New England Historical and Genealogical Society (NEHGS). I recently returned from a visit in Boston and joined that society. The library is fantastic which was the reason I could add four new families to my ancestral line back to the first immigrant or earlier. What I'd like to share with the Bates mail list is that I purchased the complete publication of the Register on CD-ROM. Although I haven't done much research with it (it is in FTM format and restricts queries to a specific name over 8 CD-ROM disks), I will be researching the Bates name and, of course, include my finds here. Let me get comfortable with the "new toy" and I'll do look up's for those New England Bate/Bates that are available.
