Hi, I recently joined this group and would like to post my husband's Bates family. Sarah Elizabeth Bates, b. July 1851 (or 1852) in MS. According to the 1900 IT/OK census, her parents were both b. in AL. She d. March 15, 1930 in Porum, Muskogee Co., OK. Elizabeth m. Abraham E. Stephens abt 1870-1874. They had eight children: Charles Arch, b. 1875 in IT/OK Lillie Mae, b. 1878 in Greenwood, Sebastian Co., AR Hamilton S., b. 1879 in Sebastian Co., AR Burrell, b. 1880 in AR Maud A., b. 1884 in AR Robert, b. 1886 in AR, Sarah Bell, b. 1888 in AR Laura Ellen, b. 1892 in LeFlore Co., IT/OK We know Elizabeth had brothers Ham and Will, one living in AR and the other in Chicago, IL, (not sure of time period).
