I don't know where they were born or where they were from originally, but I know they lived in Kansas. Eli was at one time a local Sheriff, but they usually spent their time running hotels. Their daughter, my gt-gt-grandmother, was: Jenny Nancy Bates. B: 18 Jan, 1870 in Ottawa, KS. D: 16 June, 1962 at West Point, CA . M: Charles Anton Hollingshead on 24 Dec, 1891.
