Does anyone know of Carlton BATES who operated a funeral home in Kirkwood, MO in the 1940's? He married Lydia WYTTENBACH ca 1905 in Ohio (I believe) and they had two children: William and Margaret (Marmie). I found a Marmie BATES in the St. Louis phone book, but it was a man! Lydia was born April 1889 in Laurel County, KY, and the family moved to Henrietta, Lorain Co, Ohio in 1893. Lydia was the oldest child in the family and I would like to find any descendents of hers to see whether there are any family records or photo albums. My mother, Ellen WYTTENBACH, (Lydia's sister) was an invalid for 16 years in Ohio before she died, and Lydia closed up their mother's house when it was necessary for their mother to go to a nursing home, so she probably got any albums that there were. My grandfather was dead when I was born, and I have never seen a picture of him. Unfortunately I've started this genealogy only recently when almost all my relatives are dead, so it's really tough.
