Could one of you helpful people please tell me about Benjamin Bates? The only Benjamin I have is son of Fleming and Sarah Jordan and was born 1739 and married Hannah Greenwood. Is this the one who ran the Cedar Creek School? And, is this the one that William Byrd talked of in his secret diary? And, is this the same one who "suffered seizure of property" from the Society of Friends according to Monthly Meetings Henrico, Cedar Creek? Thanks for helping me straighten this out. Eva
