Just curious about your extensive Bates data. You seem to have a great amount. I see some of the line in Conn. Do you have any connections in Fairfield County to Holmes or Banks. My Holmes line traces back to a Bates Holmes in late 1700's. He had a sone who he named Zadock Bates Holmes. Bates Holmes was married to Mary Banks and Elizabeth Banks ( not at the same time). Have always felt that Bates was likely surname of a Holmes or Banks spouse but have yet to find connection. Have no info on Bates Holmes' parents.
