I am hoping that someone can help me on the following: My GG Grandfather Harmon Hirum (aka Henry or Herman) BATES was born in Westfield, VT in 1824. He died in Point Rock, NY in 1901. Father was John BATES. I don't know who his mother was. Harmon Hirum married Mary Wilkes (1825-1884) in Montgomery Co., NY Sep 27, 1849. They had seven children, all born Madison co., NY: Orsen C. Bates 1850-1940 Mary Margaret Bates 1853-1937 Frances Emma Bates 1855-1945 James W. Bates 1857-1864 Lincoln Bates 1860-1860 Elizabeth H Bates 1862-1963 Nora L. Bates 1866-1925 I sure would appreciate it if someone can connect with this and give me some more information on John Bates and his wife and children.
