    1. Eliza Bates?
    2. I am looking for information about my Great-Great-Grandmother, Jennie May Bates, and I just found out a tidbit of info that may be hers... In the 1880 Census of Ohio, Stark Co., Washington Twp, Call #79-1068, pg 451, Dwelling #5, Family #5, the following information was enumerated: Bryan, W. P., White, Male, 62 years old, married, farmer, born "while on the sea". Bryan, Eliza, White, Female, 44 years old, married, K. House?, born in Ohio, father and mother born in Ohio. Bates, Jennie, White, Female, 13 years old, Daughter of Wife, single, born in Ohio, mother born in Ohio, father born in unknown. Ryan, H., White, Male, 15 years old, Laborer, single, born in Ohio, mother and father born in Ireland. Bristo, Frank, White, Male, 52 years old, boarder, brick and stonemason, born in Ohio. My questions: first, I am trying to connect this Jennie Bates with my line. My Jennie May Bates was married to John Perry Jackson on June 7, 1883 in Stark Co., Alliance, Ohio. She would have been about 17 at this point, and the marriage certificate, printed with the words "is over the age of eighteen" for the wife, has the word "eighteen" crossed out and "seventeen" written in above it, with the notation "consent on file". It does look like this Jennie was the right age in the right place. I need some way to verify this. second, does that mean that Jennie was illegitimate? Or perhaps her father passed away, divorced, or abandoned her mother? I would very much like to know anything on Jennie, or Eliza, or any other in this list...
