Jeremiah BATTS/BATES - Giles Co TN Looking for a lost BATES, probably in Giles Co, known as Jeremiah BATTS. Born c1800-1810 TN. He may have been a magistrate, or something like that in Giles Co. Later on there is a younger Jeremiah on Cane Creek (by 1860). Older person with the information above not sure of anything else, and this is all that is really remembered. Possibly the older Jeremiah went to Alabama, but not sure of the information. I have been searching for this person under the name Jeremiah BATES until I was told about the BATTS spelling.
