I found out today that the one Creed F Bates living in Chattanooga,Tn un 1909, the lawyer, lived many years afterwards. I found that Creed's brother Charles S Bates was working for the circulation dept of the Chattanooga Times at the time that his father had an obit in 1904 and in 1909 when the Creed F Bates obit appears.
