Looking for info regarding the personal life of William Jasper BATES, s/o Lemuel James BATES & Nancy Jane CHUMBLEY. He was born 1853, TN. Family then migrated to Franklin Co., MO. Found a newspaper article dated 5 June 1879 stating he was found legally insane and sent to Fulton Sanitarium, which is north of Franklin Co. He died Apr 1884. Where? He's buried in Bates Cemetery in Franklin Co., MO. Did he die as a patient in the sanitarium or had he already been discharged?
