I think everyone doing research ends up taking notes of people that may fit sometime. I would appreciate people checking any BATES family histories they might have as well as their GA and MO notes and sending me, or posting to the list, information they have collected from census and other records about BATES families there. BATES (@1840, GA-) He married Delilah Flannigan either in GA or AR. She was a widow of ? DUNN. There is a Francis M. Bates in 1858 in Lawrence Co. AR -- Land in Sect 27 Twp 15 Range 7W -- don't know whether the same person or different one. Frank may have lived in Oregon or Ripley Counties in MO before moving to AR. Frank Bates was married to Delilah by the time of the Randolph Co, AR census report of 1870.
