Fellow researchers, The general concensus is that James Bate b. 1562 and Mary Martine b. 1562 are the parents of Clement Bates b. 1/22/1594/95. Does anyone have a problem with that? This James Bate was born and died in Lydd Parish, Kent, England. I have another James Bate in my charts born about the same time. This one was born estimate 1540-1570 and lived in Jordenthorpe, York, England. He was father of Jane Bate b. est. 1575-90 who married 1605 John Parker II b. 1575 in England. Is there any chance that both of these James Bates could be the same person? Does anyone show a relationship between the two? Thanks, Sue in MA
