Searching for parents of Stephen Bate that married Elizabeth Bear Jan. 04, 1806 in Egloshayle, Cornwall. Stephen & Elizabeth lived in Burlorne, which is about 2 kilometers south of Egloshayle. They had 8 children: John (born in 1806), William (born in 1808- my 3xGreat Grandfather), Thomas (born in 1811), Stephen (1813), Robert (1816), Francis (1818), Elizabeth (1821), & Robert (1823). Most of the Bate children immigrated to Wayne County, Pennsylvania, USA. A Thomas Bate's signature was on Stephen & Elizabeth's marriage license. If this Thomas was this Stephen's brother, then a probable parental match for Stephen is Stephen Bate & Margaret Woolcock Bate that lived in Saint Mabyn & Helland. They had a Stephen in 1784 & a Thomas in 1787. If anyone can help me out with this info or point me to a good resource in Egloshayle, I'd be very grateful.
