I am trying to find the parents of Mitchell Bates who was possibly born in Garrard County, Ky. and married Sciota Cox, from Madison County, Ky.in 1855, They had 3 children, W. T. Bates, James E. Bates, and an unknown third child. Any help would be appreciated. Mitchell and Sciota Bates would be my great, great grandparents. Thanks. Ellen

I don't have this exact match but enough coincidental matches that it's likely the same person. I have a Mitchel BATES (6th cousin 3 times removed) born in Pulaski County KY on 1/14/1835. He married Seathay Cox in 1855. They had five children including James and William Tom. I got this info from a tree on a World Family Tree CD. I don't have the name of the originator or their source of info but I could likely find some of that. The line includes 3 generations after Mitchel (and 15 before.
