Do any of my Bates folks sound familiar to anyone out there in cyberspace? Stephen White Bates, Sr., born 1880 in Whitesburg, Ky (what is now Letcher Co.) He married Virginia Carlisle from Anderson County on September 18, 1912. Stephen's parents: William H. Bates apparently of Clay County, Ky and Margaret Yates apparently of Madison County, Ky would have been married in the 1870's or 1860's and their birthdates would have been in the 1840's or 50's. Stephen had at least one known brother, Thomas Bates who never married. Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.
