Greetings all. I am looking for information on my great grandmother, Bettie Bates. Bettie Bates married Frank McMenzie of New York, around 1900. children: Ernest McMenzie (grandfather) married Ida Virginia Ryle 16 Oct. 1926 in Hooven, Ohio. This is all the information I have to go on. I am hoping that by McMenzie not being a very common name, that just maybe it will ring a bell for one of the Bates families. A Very short story: My mother, Betty Virginia McMenzie Marsh said that (dear old dad, as she called him) left home when she was 5 and her sister was 2 years old.
