Hi everyone, I just found a clue in my old family box of photos that I am very excited about. I have been searching for any clue to help me find parents and location in PA of my grgrandfather Abram Franklin Bates.(4 Jun 1839, PA-26 Sep 1919, CA). Found a photo of a young man with the following written on the back, maybe you know him? C.H. BATES "for Uncle Abe" b. 12 April 1868 (or63?) Calavisea, PA. Does this town sound familiar to anyone? Do you have a C.H. Bates anywhere in your data born 12 April 1868? The photo is taken in Hazleton, PA at Kellmer, Photographic Art Studio No. 13 West Broad St. and is copyrighted 1889. So now I know my grgrandfather had a brother! I will search census as soon as I have the time, in the meantime, any help from any BATES researchers?! Thank you!
