My gggreatgranparents were Martin Bates (1817-1891) and Margaretha Rausch Kolb (1837). My ggreatgranmother was Mary F. Bates. She married John C. Hesley, in Syracuse, New York, on May 20, 1890. I know this one for a fact, because I have their marriage certificate. I am pulling my hair out trying to find any reference to either one of them. Is their anyone out there that can offer some assistance? Now, I have been trying to track a Nettie Bates for a long time, but I am not sure how she fits into the picture. I have her silver teaspoon as well as many pictures of her. She must have played an important part in my Family's life but I am beleiving my attention has, maybe been too focused on her. Nettie could have been one of the above's mother or Aunt. Who knows? Well, anyway, can anyone help me link up Martin and Margaretha to anyone? Thanks! Suzanne [email protected]
