Brown (12 Feb 1808 South Carolina - 17 Feb 1873 Robertson Co TX) buried Whiterock Cemetery - Robertson Co., TX Married 22 Dec 1825 Jefferson Co AL with consent of George Brown Had at least these children: 1. Elizabeth Jane "Jenny" Bates (22 Jan 1826 probably Jefferson CO AL - 20 Mar 1924 Lawrence CO AL) + Willis Brooks 17 Jun 1841 Tuscaloosa Co., AL 2. James Bates, Jr. (b. between 1826/1830 AL) 3. Unknown daughter.. (b. between 1826/1830 AL) 4. Thomas Jefferson Bates - (b. after 1830 AL) info from book "Sam Baker - Winston County's gunfigher" Tom was a rancher who lived around the White Rock Community in Northern Robertson Co. Ran one of the largest cattle operations in the county. His land holding extended along Duck Creek, southwest of Kosse, into southeastern Limestone Co. Tom's house was in Headsville, Robertson Co., TX about a half a mile from the Robertson-Limestone Co boarder. Tom is on the 1860 Limestone County, TX Census... he moves to Robertson Co soon afterwards and lived there until he dies. *********** Probably more children ************* 5. Martha Bates (b. circa 1848 AL) Last child.
